J. Michael McCoy has over 30 years of experience representing financial institutions in commercial transactions. Today, Mike’s practice is concentrated on the representation of a large Wall Street investment bank in the origination of commercial conduit loans intended for securitization as well as complex loan servicing transactions for the two largest master servicers in the Commercial Mortgage-Banked Securitization (CMBS) industry.
Mike’s origination work includes loan origination matters for income-producing properties such as office buildings, hospitality properties, retail centers, apartment complexes, self-storage facilities and mobile home parks. Such matters include mezzanine loans, inter-creditor agreements, letters of credit, and issues relating to zoning, partial releases, equity transfers, and ground leases.
His CMBS servicing work is concentrated on complex loan assumptions, inter-creditor agreements, participation agreements, letters of credit, equity transfers, rating agency matters, lockbox agreements, non-consolidation opinions, review of pooling and servicing agreements as well as agency-originated loans.
Mike is married to Dr. Aleda Toma, a well-known Oklahoma oncologist. Mike and Aleda have two married children and two grandchildren and enjoy spending at their Park City and Santa Monica retreats.
